Purely abstract composition above (with no preconceived ideas), representational interpretation from imagination below (no references allowed). This was my live demonstration from this past weekend during my workshop at @seattleprize . A more experimental workshop than my typical style of workshop that I’ve taught in years past, and I think very well suited to such an advanced/professional group of artists. It was SO gratifying to see these artists take the approach and run with it. Pushing focus, trusting their knowledge, and being willing to play. Thank you all for the great weekend 🙏💞
